Trista Ramirez attended Cal State Dominguez Hill, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services in 1997. Trista then went on to attend Loyola Marymount University, earning a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in 1999.

Trista started as a counselor with Palos Verdes Unified School District in 1999 and has been working at Palos Verdes High School since 2004. She is a native of the South Bay area, where she currently resides with her husband and two daughters.

Paula Stapleton is in her 8th year as a counselor at Palos Verdes High School. She started her career as a social studies teacher and has taught at the elementary level as well.

Paula earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Loyola Marymount University where she also earned a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling as well as a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

She is a native of the South Bay and has four children who attend PV schools.

Pat Colin attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she obtained a BS in Mathematics Education. She later earned both a Masters in Educational Administration and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from California State University Dominguez Hills.

She began working for the Palos Verdes School District in 1984 as a mathematics teacher at what was then Rolling Hills High School, and made the transition to the counseling office in 1996.

She resides in the area with her husband and 3 sons.

Adam Genovese grew up in New York. He earned a BA in Psychology at the College of William & Mary, then headed to Hofstra University for a Masters in School Counseling. After working as a school counselor for six years in NY, he got the California itch and joined our crew at PV.

Adam lives in Hermosa Beach and loves that he can now wear flip-flops in the winter!

Amerika McHugh grew up in Singapore and attended Singapore American School.

She moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University and received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She later returned to Loyola Marymount University to receive her Masters Degree in Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

She currently lives in Redondo Beach with her husband, Mike, and their dog Cleo.

Andrea Pellicane is currently in her fourth year at Palos Verdes High School. This is her eighth year as a high school counselor. Andrea started her education career as a high school math teacher, teaching in both California and New York.

A native New Yorker, Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo. She earned her Master of Arts degree in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Loyola Marymount University and most recently completed the UCLA College Counseling Certificate.

Teri Kuwahara graduated with a B.A. from Cal State Long Beach in History, Secondary Education and a certificate in East Asian Studies, M.S. from the University of Southern California in Library Science and a Certificate with Distinction in College Admission Counseling from UCLA Extension.

She joined the staff at PVHS in 2007 after serving as the program director for a private non-profit educational foundation. She is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC). She was honored in 2009 by WACAC with the Steve Hankins New Counselor Award. Teri loves to travel and has personally toured over 50 colleges in the United States.

Teri has two grown children who graduated from a community college, state college, private California college and private east coast college. She currently resides in Torrance with her husband.

Teresa Hoffman attended the University of California at Davis, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies. She worked for Ashland, Inc. for several years in marketing and technical support.

Before joining the staff at PVHS in 2009, she volunteered extensively in the College and Career Center and recently experienced the college admissions process with her eldest child. She is currently a member of the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC) and has attended several of their workshops on financial aid and scholarships.

Teresa and her husband, Larry, have lived on the Palos Verdes Peninsula for over 20 years. They have two children who have/are attending schools within the PVPUSD.
