Dear Baseball Fans,
Palos Verdes Sea Kings baseball has been a successful program for many years, with several significant accomplishments. The 2010-2011 school year will be the ninth year of PVHS since the reopening. There have been seven varsity seasons since the reopening, and the team has qualified for the CIF playoffs in each of those seven seasons. We have won league championships in the 2006 (Pioneer), 2007 (Bay) and 2009 (Bay) seasons, and the CIF Division IV Championship in 2006. From 2006 – 2009, the team had a string of four consecutive 20+ win seasons from 2006-2009, winning 29 in 2006.
However, as you may know, the baseball program has never had a Clubhouse, locker room, or permanent restroom facilities. We now need your help to build a Clubhouse and improve the field, which will continue to be named “Gil Eberhard Field,” in honor of the late Coach Gil Eberhard, who coached varsity baseball at PVHS for 25 years, collecting 332 victories and eight league titles between 1966 and 1991.
With the help of some generous donors of funding and services, we have plans for these improvements and have been granted approval by the Palos Verdes Unified School District Board to begin the project. A detailed diagram of the plans for the Clubhouse, Concession Stand, Locker Room and other facilities is included on the next page.
We have begun a major campaign to see the project through to completion. We anticipate the total cost to be approximately $350,000 and have created a non-profit organization to manage the fundraising. There are various levels of sponsorship available; we are planning a Major Donor “Honor Wall” as well as the opportunity to purchase a permanent name plate above a locker in the new Clubhouse.
