WELCOME TO THE PVHS PTSA
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. Our theme this year is "Challenge Yourself"; our goal is for everyone in the PVHS family – students, parents, and faculty – to challenge themselves to support our students and help PVHS continue to be one of the best high schools in the nation. I have no doubt we will meet our goal: we have a fantastic faculty, an enthusiastic new principal, and an amazing and dedicated student body. Our test scores are way up and there is a renewed energy and pride on campus.
We welcome you to, and encourage you to participate in, the PVHS PTSA this year. Please join us at our first PTSA general meeting on September 27, 2011, at 9:15 a.m. in the MPR, to hear more about exciting plans and programs in store for PVHS this year, including Challenge Day, Kind Week, College Fair, numerous parent education programs, Red Ribbon Week, Capital Convoy and health and safety programs geared toward high school students. Dr. Stephany and other administrators will attend this, and each of our monthly meetings, to make sure we have the most accurate and up-to-date information about what is going on at PVHS. I encourage all parents, but particularly the parents of our incoming freshmen, to join us at these meetings. The transition from middle school to high school can be daunting, and participating in the PTSA is a great way to stay informed, connect with other parents, and become part of the PVHS family.
If you cannot attend a meeting, you can keep up-to-date by reading The Wave, which is available on line. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. Thank you for your support of the PTSA, and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Go Sea Kings!
